When I first applied for a scholarship to Larita Academy, I was nervous but determined. I wanted a good education, a chance to grow, and an opportunity to become the best version of myself. I knew that if I gave it everything, this experience could change my future. I also wanted to meet new people, push myself to try harder, and see what doors could open.

There are moments from the program that still stand out clearly. The most memorable experience for me was the auction where I won the Dress for Success money. It was a fun and exciting moment, but also meaningful because it gave me a real boost of confidence. It reminded me that I’m capable of putting myself out there and going after opportunities.

Another defining moment was realising I did not have to fear failure. Before Larita, I saw mistakes as something to avoid. Now I see them as chances to grow. That shift changed the way I approach challenges and gave me the courage to try new things without holding back. It is a lesson I carry with me every day.

Since graduating, I have taken that energy into everything I do. I have pushed harder at school, stepped into leadership roles, and tried activities I might once have avoided. I also share what I learned with others, and in doing so I strengthen my own growth. The skills I rely on daily, like time management, communication and teamwork, are ones I practiced and refined during the Academy. What surprised me most was how much I discovered about myself.
