Shea Ili has won back to back Defensive Player of the Year awards and remains one of Melbourne United’s most important players at both ends of the floor. Now 273 games into his NBL career, he began with the New Zealand Breakers, winning a championship in 2015 and earning Most Improved Player in 2018. Since joining Melbourne in NBL20, he was part of the 2021 championship team and has been key in recent Championship Series runs. He has won the past two Damian Martin Trophies, with his toughness, quickness and playmaking continuing to stand out.
