Larita Academy Inaugural Careers Day sparks employment pathways and possibilities

For the first time, Larita graduates had the opportunity to connect face-to-face with some of Australia’s most dynamic employers in an afternoon alive with energy, opportunity, and connection. This milestone event marked a turning point in the Academy’s mission to bridge the gap between young people and meaningful employment.
Daniel’s Donuts, Brand Collective, and Acquire Intelligence each delivered outstanding presentations, sharing not just their career pathways and company cultures, but also the passion and values that drive their success. The room was buzzing with excitement as graduates gained real-world insight into industries ranging from hospitality and retail to technology and intelligence.
Graduates also heard from Larita Academy founder, Anita Pahor, and co-founder, Larry Kestelman, in a powerful session on job interview readiness. They shared insights on how your story is your strength, that non-verbal communication can convey just as much as verbal communication, and that being a little bit scared isn’t always a bad thing!
The impact was immediate. By the end of the day, nearly every graduate was considering applying for at least one role, with many inspired to take the leap into industries they had never before considered.
The feedback was clear and unanimous.
· 100% of graduates said the Careers Open Day was informative and valuable.
· Employers echoed that sentiment, with 80% strongly agreeing they left better informed and more confident about hiring young people at risk.

We are deeply grateful to our partner organisations for their generosity, enthusiasm, and belief in our graduates. This pilot event was a powerful reminder of what happens when talent meets opportunity in a supportive environment, and we can’t wait to see the careers that grow from here.
